Hedgehogs shouldnt be bred past 2 years old.. Its on almost every website and breeding hedgehogs isnt for everyone... If a hedgehog doesnt have a pedigree it should NOT be bred because they can carry WHS. This can be passed off to the offspring and its a terrible thing to put a hedgehog through. (its like MS in humans except it effects hedgehogs).
Please people, do your research before thinking about breeding because uneducated people like this do wrong to these animals. Breeding a female hedgehog at 3 is completely wrong and really hurts them. It can actually kill the mother because the birth canal cant widen properly at this age and the babies can and do get stuck causing death to the mother and babies.
